American Legion - Post 322 - Summit's local chapter of the American Legion.

American Red Cross - The local chapter is part of the city's emergency management program.

BRIDGES Outreach - BRIDGES began in 1988 with just one Summit surburban couple, Geoff and Ginger Worden, made their first of many Friday midnight trips to carry bag dinners, hot soup, and coffee to the homeless on the streets of NYC.

Today, BRIDGES’ outreach includes over 1,500 kind and caring volunteers delivering over 75,000 bagged brown lunches, literally tons of clothing and toiletries and other necessities each year. Since 1988, BRIDGES has not missed a weekly RUN into Manhattan. Recognizing the need closer to home, BRIDGES expanded its operations in 1996 to Newark and in 2002 to Irvington.

East Summit Association - The East Summit Association (ESA) is a group of citizens that collectively address quality of life issues as they relate to the neighborhoods and business sections that comprise the area known as "East Summit" If your want to know if you live in East Summit or wish to join the association, volunteer your time or make a donation, please to to the East Summit website.

First aid squad - The Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad is a private, nonprofit organization that provides emergency ambulanbce service and medical transportation for residents of the city.

Good Grief - Grief Support for children, teens and families Good Grief is a 501(c) (3) non-profit dedicated to providing services and educational programs for children and families coping with loss . • Free peer support groups using talk, music, art, play, drama, physical activities and journaling. • Peer support groups are for parents and their children ages 3-18, and young adults 18-30 who have lost a parent, sibling or other significant individual due to death. Separate groups are held for pre-school, elementary, middle school, and teens. • Support group activities are designed to help children express their loss experience, share feelings and memories of the person who have died, and identify ways of coping and growing through their grief. • Parent groups run in conjunction with children and teen groups.

HomeTowne Television - HomeTowne Television on Comcast TV-36 or Verizon TV-33. The purpose of HomeTowne Television is to provide community news; coverage of local events and municipal government meetings; information regarding fitness, health and finance topics; and programs about culture, art, education, religion, sports and other subjects of local interest. We care as much about how we communicate as to what we communicate.

Junior League of Summit, Inc. - The Junior League of Summit, Inc. is a non-profit organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. This group is also committed to providing the education, opportunities and encouragement for positive and constructive behaviors in children and their parents/guardians in the communities of Berkeley Heights, Chatham, New Providence and Summit.

NJ Center for Visual Arts - The NJ Center for Visual Arts located in Summit, NJ offers a diverse range of opportunities for art lovers - from young children to seniors, from creators to appreciators - through a variety of programs, both in and out of the Art Center.

Overlook Hospital - Atlantic Health System - Overlook Hospital is the hospital servicing the Summit area.

Pathways - Pathways, a program of The Connection for Women and Families in Summit, provides educational resources and ongoing support groups for women with breast and gynecological cancers, creating a community in which shared experiences lead to personal growth and healing.

Rainbows - Guiding kids through life's storms. Rainbows can be there for children who have experienced death, divorce, abandonment, and countless other sorrows. Rainbows is a nonprofit organization offering free, confidential support groups for children and adults grieving a death, divorce or any other painful transition in their family. For over twenty years the New Jersey State Chapter of Rainbows has brought hope to grieving children, guiding them from hurt through healing to hope. Rainbows is located in Summit.

Reeves-Reed Arboretum - The Reeves-Reed Arboretum is a suburban conservancy dedicated to the environment and horticultural education for children and adults and to the enjoyment of nature through the professional care and preservation of a historic country estate. Distinct from a park, an arboretum is an educational conservancy promoting the awareness that the natural environment needs protection and deserves concern. Trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants are conserved and identified in their natural settings for study and appreciation. Native flora, new plant introductions and unusual specimens that can be grown in this region are also on display. The arboretum grounds and other facilities are available for rent. The gardens provide an excellent background for photography sessions.

SAGE - A Summit community resource that provides services to older adults and their caregivers.

Shaping Summit Together - Shaping Summit Together currently sponsors two major initiatives: the Youth Programs Sub-Committee - the primary purpose of which is to discover and focus on the unmet program needs of Summit's youth - and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day of Community Service. The goal of the 9th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service (Monday, January 15, 2007) is to help motivate all Summit citizens and friends to volunteer and work together to educate, inspire, improve the community and better achieve city unity. In addition, it co-sponsors One Book, One Community with the Summit Interfaith Council. We are a volunteer-driven organization whose membership includes Summit residents as well as the leaders of the City's many not-for-profit organizations and municipal agencies.

St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center - St. Hubert's Animal Center is dedicated to alleviating the suffering and neglect of companion animals. Our services to the community include pet adoption and animal rescue, dog training, humane education, pet loss support, shelter partnering and doggy day camp.

Summit Area Community School - Summit Area Community School offers many courses and programs to the Summit Area community.

Summit Area YMCA - The Summit Area YMCA is a membership and volunteer-based non-profit organization. The Y is committed to strengthening our communities by providing programs incorporating the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility to the community that builds spirit, mind and body for all.

Summit Chamber of Commerce - The Summit Chamber of Commerce was formed to encourage and promote business interests of its members. It has a single focus which is to enhance business opportunity for its members within the boundaries of the City of Summit. The many chamber projects are designed to encourage positive growth and to develop business opportunity here in Summit. The work of the Summit Chamber is conducted by volunteers whom serve on various committees formed to promote member interests.

Summit Chorale - Summit Chorale is New Jersey's oldest volunteer choral ensemble, performing in Summit and surrounding communities. Visit the Summit Chorale website for information on the current season, including concert dates and audition opportunities.

Summit Civic Foundation - Affordable Housing - The primary goal of the Summit Civic Foundation is to make it possible for young families with children to benefit from living in Summit. To this end we offer quality housing at rents below Summit market levels to families with limited means. The Foundation abates rent for worthy applicants who cannot afford our standard rents or tenants who meet with misfortune. When families’ circumstances improve we hope that they will move on freeing the housing for another young family. We encourage this by providing help with the closing costs to families to buy homes outside the Foundation. But some families remain for years so the Foundation has a healthy multigenerational makeup.

Summit Downtown, Inc. - Visit the Summit Downtown website for information regarding upcoming events in Summit's viabrant downtown. Summit is filled with a variety of stores, specialty shops, movie theatre, fine and casual restuarants with plenty of free customer parking.

Summit Junior Fortnightly Club - The Summit Junior Fortnightly Club (SJFC) is a women’s club dedicated to volunteerism, fundraising, community service and outreach. SJFC has approximately 95 members from central New Jersey communities such as Summit, Chatham, New Providence, and Berkeley Heights. The diverse membership of the club includes women working inside and outside the home and representing a variety of disciplines such as law, medicine, business, education, and the arts. Our club has supported numerous worthy causes over the years, and through our fundraising and volunteer efforts we have been able to help countless people in need.

Summit Symphony - Summit Smphony was formed in 1938 by the Summit Board of Recreation with the dual purpose of (1) providing an arena for qualified non-professional musicians to read and perform orchestral music, and (2) presenting orchestral concerts, free of charge, to residents of Summit and the surrounding areas. NJMCdirect.com - Pay your parking or traffic ticket on line through NJMCdirect. Payment hours available are: MON-THURS 7:30AM - 11:45PM, FRI 7:30AM - 11:00PM and SAT 7:30AM - 4:00PM. There is an additional fee added to the traffic ticket penalty amount for this service which is based on the penalty amount of the ticket.
